Job summary

Navitas/East Penn is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to lead mechanical analysis and design for lithium‑ion battery modules and packs used in commercial, industrial, and automotive applications. You will own complex workstreams and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver robust products.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3–7 years of relevant experience are required, with proficiency in CAD/FEA tools (SolidWorks, Abaqus, ANSYS) and strong analytical communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3–7 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience with CAD/FEA and design for manufacturing.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and analysis for battery modules and packs from concept through production.
• Develop CAD models, drawings, layouts, BOMs, and mechanical specifications.
• Own complex structural calculations, tolerance studies, and mechanical analyses.
• Lead FEA and simulation activities for structural, thermal, vibration, shock, and related requirements.
• Translate simulation results into design improvements and tradeoffs.
• Mentor Mechanical Engineer I and collaborate with suppliers on component development.
