Job summary

RTX's Airborne Sensor RF Design Department is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to work onsite at our McKinney, Texas location, performing mechanical design, test, integration and documentation for RF systems and sub-systems, including antennas, radomes, sensors and waveguides. The candidate will lead mechanical outline/assembly definitions, oversee fixture/electrical layout, and ensure cost, schedule, quality and performance targets are met.

Availability for up to 25% travel and U.S.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• 10+ years in design and manufacturing of electronics packaging for military and aerospace.
• Thorough knowledge of GD&T, ANSI drawing standards and first order analysis techniques.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% to suppliers, facilities and customer sites.
• U.S. Citizenship is required due to security clearance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design tightly toleranced RF components.
• Create, refine, and release detailed drawings.
• Apply GD&T to detail manufacturing standards for RF components and assemblies.
