Job summary

KLA in Milpitas, California, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead mechanical redesigns for semiconductor inspection modules in UHV/HV environments. You will own subsystem architecture, drive safety and manufacturability, and mentor junior engineers across cross‑functional teams.

You will apply GD&T, perform tolerance analyses, and coordinate with Systems, Electrical, Manufacturing, and Reliability to deliver robust, cost‑effective solutions throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• PhD/ MSc/ BSc with related experience in semiconductor equipment.
• Expert-level knowledge in vacuum hardware and high-voltage mechanical systems.
• Strong communication and project leadership across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of complex UHV/HV mechanical systems.
• Own subsystem architecture and interfaces; drive design decisions.
• Conduct tolerance analyses and GD&T planning; perform validations.
• Coordinate with Systems, Electrical, Manufacturing, Reliability, and Supply Chain teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and establish best practices.
• Support product roadmap and future architecture development.
