Job summary

KLA, Milpitas, CA, is seeking an Applications Development Engineer for Surfscan. You will characterize next‑generation wafer inspection products, develop test plans, collect data, and publish analysis to enable product enhancements and customer value demonstration.

You will conduct tool demonstrations, create use cases, and support beta testing to promote adoption at customer sites. A PhD or Master’s in a relevant field is required, with optics or semiconductor processing knowledge a plus.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Characterization of next-generation semiconductor wafer inspection products.
• Develop and review feature requirements, design test plans, collect data, perform analysis and publish results.
• Conduct tool demonstrations and develop use cases to drive tool sales and customer adoption.
• Investigate yield issues and develop inspection solutions to monitor them.
