Job summary

Baker Hughes in Houston seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Wellbore Construction. Lead design, development and qualification of wellbore equipment, collaborating with operations and customers to ensure performance.

Role requires a bachelor's in engineering and 10+ years in completions; strong communication and leadership; proficient in design, modelling, analysis, and qualification; experience with SolidWorks and Teamcenter is preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
Minimum 10 years experience in completions technologies.
Strong communication skills, with an ability to interact with both internal and external customers.
Be an effective team collaborator with good understanding of behavioral and personnel dynamics; Able to work independently and as a member of a team.
Be able to demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing projects or workload demands.
Be proficient in design, modelling, analysis, and product qualification.

Responsibilities

Executing the evaluation, design, analysis, test, or integration of individual and team projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
Applying system engineering methodologies such as requirements definition, system architecture and integration, analyses, configuration management, and risk management in the design phase of products
Providing technical leadership to personnel/cross functional teams supporting the assigned project.
Implementing and recommending plans with guidance to meet technical requirements of assigned components, systems, or programs.
Leading or participating in teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues.
Presenting or participating in technical and program design reviews.
Assuring proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
Estimating and managing assigned project timelines and costs.
Planning and executing product validation testing.
