Job summary

Baker Hughes in Houston, TX, seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Wellbore Construction to lead design and qualification of products, and support operations and customers in our Wellbore Construction Engineering group.

You will own new product development, provide technical leadership, apply system engineering methods, perform analysis and testing, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maximize well value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in completions technologies.
• Strong communication skills with internal and external customers.
• Be an effective team collaborator; able to work independently or with a team.
• Be adaptable to changing projects or workload demands.
• Proficient in design, modelling, analysis, and product qualification.

Responsibilities

• Executing evaluation, design, analysis, test, or integration of projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to standards.
• Applying system engineering methodologies in design phase (requirements, architecture, integration, risk management).
• Providing technical leadership to cross-functional teams.
• Planning and executing product validation testing.
• Estimating and managing project timelines and costs.
• Presenting or participating in design reviews.
