Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Lead Design Engineer to support Upper Completions in Houston, TX. You will lead the design and development of advanced packer, gas lift, and flow control tools, guiding concepts through prototype testing, manufacturing, and field support.

You will develop engineering drawings, calculations, and test reports, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and present design reviews to stakeholders while ensuring schedule and budget compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 2+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree.
Strong problem-solving skills with innovative approaches.
Proficiency in CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
Experience with 3D modeling and 2D manufacturing drawings.
Understanding of finite element analysis (FEA) and geometry simplification.
Knowledge of hydraulic systems and forces.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead engineering projects within defined budgets, schedules, and technical requirements.
Break down complex initiatives into milestones and ensure timely execution.
Develop engineering drawings, calculations, design documentation, and test reports.
