Job summary

Lanco IEM is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer-Structural & Cab Team in Hazel Crest, IL. You will lead senior technical efforts, translate engineering direction into executable plans, and mentor team members while collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers.

The role focuses on complex machine structures, cab systems, and structural interfaces, with a strong emphasis on leadership and design excellence.

Qualifications

• Accredited mechanical/structural engineering degree required.
• 10+ years progressive mechanical/structural design experience in heavy equipment or related fields.
• Strong CAD skills in 3D/2D drafting; Inventor/AutoCAD/SolidWorks required.
• Experience in structured release environments and engineering change notices.

Responsibilities

• Plan and create mechanical designs aligned with product, quality, manufacturability, and business goals.
• Serve as SME for complex mechanical and structural systems (machine structures, winches, gears, motors, enclosures, operator cabs).
• Develop connections designs and guide decisions for complex interfaces.
• Review drawings with annotations and tolerances for manufacturing.
