Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design, fabrication, and start-up of complex equipment. You will prepare customer-approval drawings, coordinate with shop personnel, and serve as the main point of contact with the customer throughout the project.

The role requires strong mechanical design, project management, and communication skills, with 3–5 years of design experience in process or heavy industrial equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
• 3–5 years of design experience in process or heavy industrial equipment
• Sheet metal, hoppers, chutes, structural supports and machine drive arrangements in hazardous, wash-down, sanitary, and heavy industrial areas

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment drawings for customer approval and shop manufacturing
• Lead design, fabrication and start-up of equipment projects
• Be the main customer contact throughout the project
• Review specifications with the customer and respond to questions
• Prepare accurate manufacturing drawings and CAD transmittals
• Coordinate with shop personnel on design questions and fabrication details
• Ensure design details are implemented prior to shipment
