Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4–8+ years of mechanical engineering in industrial automation, machinery design, or manufacturing.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks, Inventor, or other 3D CAD software.
• Experience designing fabricated weldments, machined components, and mechanical assemblies.
• Strong understanding of machine design principles, tolerancing, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with pneumatic systems, linear motion, and power transmission components.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Capable of managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design custom automation equipment, machine assemblies, tooling, fixtures, and production systems using 3D CAD software.
• Develop detailed mechanical drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation.
• Lead mechanical design efforts throughout the project lifecycle, from concept development through machine build and commissioning.
• Work closely with controls engineers, electrical engineers, and technicians to ensure seamless system integration.
• Perform engineering calculations related to structural design, motion systems, power transmission, and machine performance.
• Select and specify mechanical components including motors, bearings, gearboxes, linear motion systems, conveyors, pneumatics, and sensors.
• Participate in design reviews, customer meetings, and project planning activities.
• Support assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and startup of automated equipment.
• Identify design improvements to optimize machine performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
• Ensure equipment designs comply with customer specifications, safety requirements, and industry standards.
• Provide technical guidance and support to manufacturing and field service personnel as needed.
