Round-Peg Solutions (RPS) Limited in Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to own hardware from concept through production and deployment of missile and launcher systems. This role offers a challenging opportunity to influence defence hardware in rapid development cycles and field operations.

You will lead mechanical design and CAD development, crafting deployment mechanisms and ensuring robust integration of missile, UAV and launcher hardware onto mobile platforms, while

Qualifications

• Extensive mechanical engineering experience within aerospace, defence or complex electromechanical systems.
• Experience designing missile launchers, deployment mechanisms or closely related hardware.
• Strong CAD skills with SolidWorks or equivalent for large assemblies and interfaces.
• Knowledge of structural design, mechanisms, tolerancing, ruggedised hardware and environmental loads.
• Proven leadership across hardware development, integration, testing and manufacturing.
• Experience with MIL-STD-810, FEA, electromechanical interfaces, launch safety or maritime systems would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and CAD development of launcher systems, complex assemblies and interfaces.
• Develop deployment mechanisms, actuation systems, retention and release hardware.
• Integrate missile, UAV and launcher hardware onto mobile ground and maritime platforms.
• Address shock, vibration, thermal loads, environmental protection and mechanical safety.
• Drive prototyping, qualification, system integration, manufacturing and production transition.
