Job summary

Rocket Lab Corporation seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer I, onsite in Pasadena, to lead mechanical design for space robotics and precision mechanisms. You will drive architecture, tolerances, and manufacturability while coordinating with electrical, software, systems, and test teams.

You will mentor engineers, develop ground support equipment, and deliver hardware through design, fabrication, and flight delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechatronics, robotics, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience in aerospace/space robotics.
• 3+ years as responsible engineer or technical lead for mechanical components or subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical and mechanism development efforts with scope, schedule, risks and verification plans.
• Serve as responsible engineer for complex components through design, build, test, and delivery.
• Lead design reviews with cross-functional teams and drive closure.
