Job summary

Sora Resource Group seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for Brown Deer, WI. You will own ground-up machine architecture, design high-speed automated cells, and lead cross-functional teams in a 100% onsite production environment.

Ideal candidates have a BSME or 5–10 years of custom equipment design, expert SolidWorks skills, and hands-on experience with welding, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Direct-hire, 1st shift, with strong career growth potential.

Qualifications

• BSME or 5–10 years of verifiable ground-up custom equipment design experience in heavy machinery or high-speed automation.
• Expert fluency in SolidWorks for large assemblies and production-ready drawings.
• Practical understanding of weldments, material selection, machine shop processes, and tolerance control.

Responsibilities

• Lead ground-up machine architecture for high-speed automated machinery and robotic work cells.
• Develop concepts and collaborate with PMs to brainstorm cost-effective automated solutions.
• Break down scopes into milestones and coordinate with internal detailers and external fabricators.
• Integrate hydraulic/pneumatic drive systems and servo solutions.
• Conduct design reviews to identify safety hazards and ergonomic issues before shop release.
• Serve as technical contact for clients and manage BOM releases with assembly floor teams.
