Herc Rentals in Wake Forest, NC is seeking a Mechanic A to lead fleet maintenance, mentor junior mechanics, and ensure equipment stays on the rental 'ready line' through preventative and corrective maintenance.

The role emphasizes diagnosing engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, performing repairs, managing work orders, and upholding safety and efficiency standards while delivering detailed service reports.

Qualifications

H.S. Diploma or equivalent.
3 years of experience repairing heavy equipment.
Ability to safely lift up to 50 LBs.
Ownership of a range of hand and air/electric tools.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for all Herc owned fleet.
Operate and test equipment to meet quality and efficiency standards.
Perform routine repairs on fleet equipment and trucks independently.
Diagnose engines, electrical, hydraulics, and fuel systems.
Perform major repairs using diagnostic tools and hand tools.
Conduct oil changes, lubrication, and tire replacements.
Assist with customer damage estimates and repairs.
Enter work orders and order parts via fleet management system.
Rebuild and replace parts on heavy equipment; review wear and tear.
Take service calls and dispatch Field Service Mechanic when needed.
Maintain a clean, organized work area and document repairs.
