Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Mechanic A to lead fleet maintenance operations at the Raleigh branch. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and ensuring equipment remains on the rental ready line. You will mentor B and C level mechanics and work with the shop lead to maintain high quality standards.

The position requires hands-on expertise with engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems, and offers a comprehensive benefits package, sign-on bonus, and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience repairing heavy equipment
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs
• Owns a selection of hand and air/electric tools to complete repairs

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a consistent preventative maintenance schedule for all Herc fleet at your branch
• Operate and test equipment to ensure quality and efficiency standards are met
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fleet equipment and trucks independently
• Diagnose engines, electrical, hydraulics, and fuel systems
• Perform major repairs using diagnostic tools and measuring instruments
• Enter and review work orders and order parts via fleet management system
• Mentor B and C level mechanics
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
