Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Mechanic A in the United States to lead fleet maintenance at the branch, applying master technician skills to uphold quality standards and mentor junior mechanics for a rental-ready fleet.

The role emphasizes safe preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnosing engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems, performing repairs, and managing work orders while maintaining an organized shop environment.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience repairing heavy equipment.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ownership of sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools to complete most repairs and services.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a consistent schedule of preventive maintenance for all Herc fleet.
• Operate and test equipment to ensure it passes quality standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fleet equipment and trucks independently.
• Diagnose engines, electrical, hydraulics, and fuel systems.
• Enter and review work orders and order parts via the fleet management system.
• Produce service reports and repair logs.
