Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Mechanic A in Monroe, LA to lead fleet maintenance and ensure equipment stays on the rental ready line. The role requires master technician skills, adherence to safety standards, and mentoring of junior technicians.

You will diagnose engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, perform complex repairs, and maintain thorough service logs. This is a full-time position offering comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ownership of hand and air/electric tools to complete repairs.
• Ability to drive and operate multiple vehicle/equipment types.
• Mastery of Mechanic B and C level tasks.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, propane, and fuel systems.
• Proficiency with computerized diagnostic tools and fleet management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead fleet maintenance with preventative maintenance program.
• Operate and test equipment to meet quality standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs independently.
• Diagnose and repair internal combustion engines, electrical, hydraulics, and fuel systems.
• Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and fix issues and reprogram firmware when needed.
• Mentor Mechanic B and C technicians and assist shop lead with repairs.
