Job summary

The Lead Mechanic at Pacific Federal Management (PFM) will lead a team of mechanics responsible for repairing and maintaining diesel equipment and vehicles. You will assign tasks, ensure safety, provide technical guidance, and diagnose complex problems to keep equipment at peak performance.

You will supervise shop and field operations, manage parts and maintenance schedules, and communicate status updates to management. Leadership, strong diagnostics, and ASE-certified expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of heavy equipment repair and maintenance experience.
• 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Advanced diesel engine, hydraulics and electrical system knowledge.
• Ability to read manuals and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support mechanics in field and shop to ensure quality repairs.
• Assign tasks by priority and skill, monitor progress and productivity.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues on heavy equipment.
• Perform quality checks and ensure safety compliance.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules and be responsible for reports.
• Train staff on safety protocols and diagnostic tools.
