Job summary

gpac is seeking a Lead Diesel Mechanic to join a maintenance team in the waste management fleet. You will perform maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel-powered trucks and heavy equipment, diagnose issues, and ensure safety and reliability of the fleet.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of diesel experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and strong problem-solving and teamwork skills. ASE certification preferred; CDL is a plus. This is a full-time on-site role.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of diesel mechanic experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
  • ASE certification preferred; CDL a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines and vehicle repair procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel-powered vehicles.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools.
  • Repair engines, transmissions, braking and electrical systems.
  • Implement preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ensure safety regulations and document work.
  • Identify and order parts with parts department.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance records.
  • Collaborate with Fleet Maintenance Manager.
  • Respond to emergency repairs.
