Job summary

Virginia Department of Transportation in Lynchburg is seeking a Materials Documentation Program Manager to ensure all materials used in VDOT projects meet specifications and FHWA requirements. Qualifications

• Experience collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
• Ability to interpret plans, drawings, manuals, and VDOT specifications.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and apply statistical concepts in sampling/testing.
• Ability to prepare or review technical reports.
• Ability to work independently, or in teams including management.
• Knowledge of highway construction materials.
• Knowledge of plant and field QA sampling/testing methods.
• Knowledge of quality control/quality assurance concepts.
• Knowledge of materials acceptance programs and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Materials Documentation Program to ensure materials meet VDOT specs and FHWA requirements.
• Provide technical support to assigned engineering program.
• Coordinate with inspectors, contractors, and local representatives.
• Review certifications and submittals for approval and perform audits.
• Maintain records and update project data in databases.
