Job summary

Universal Pure is hiring a Material Lead to supervise daily activities of Material Handlers in a refrigerated warehouse environment. You will ensure safe, accurate movement of materials, enforce GMP standards, and coordinate with Production and Quality teams to meet customer requirements.

The role requires 2–3 years in warehousing or manufacturing and at least 1 year in a lead capacity, with forklift experience and WMS knowledge.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years of warehouse, logistics, material handling, or manufacturing experience.
• Minimum 1 year experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment.
• Minimum one (1) year of experience serving in a Team Lead, Lead, or higher-level leadership role directing the work of others.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assign daily work activities and priorities to Material Handlers based on production schedules, shipping requirements, and operational needs.
• Coordinate the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, finished goods, and customer products throughout the facility.
• Monitor workflow to ensure production lines are adequately supplied.
• Lead, coach, and support Material Handlers to ensure safety, GMP, food safety, and company policies.
• Train new Material Handlers on equipment operation, inventory procedures, warehouse processes, and safety requirements.
• Monitor employee performance and provide feedback to support productivity, quality, and attendance.
• Ensure accurate completion of shipping, receiving, inventory, and warehouse documentation.
• Oversee inventory transactions utilizing WMS and RF scanning equipment while ensuring accuracy of all putaways, picks, and movements.
• Perform inventory cycle counts and investigate discrepancies.
• Verify proper product identification, FIFO, and inventory accuracy.
• Maintain 5S standards in warehouse and staging areas.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and ensure safe operation.
• Communicate issues to supervisors and provide end-of-shift handoff details.
• Monitor productivity and labor utilization; adjust assignments as needed.
• Support shipping and receiving activities and audits.
• Collaborate across teams to resolve operational issues.
• Serve as first escalation point for material flow and inventory concerns.
• Lead by example with attendance and professionalism.
• Perform Material Handler duties as needed.
• Lead and direct two or more Material Handlers per shift.
