Position Summary

Material Handler Leadman. 1st shift - $21-$22.

Job Details
  • The Leadman reports to the Material Manager.
  • Responsible for overseeing the movement and receiving of materials.
  • Ensures the accuracy of material receipts, organizes materials in the appropriate areas, and leads a team of receiving personnel to achieve efficient production support, quality standards, and cost reduction.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Material Unloading and Verification
  • Assist in unloading incoming materials.
  • Verify accuracy by comparing packing slips with purchase orders.
  • Ensure materials are stored properly to prevent damage and contamination.
Inventory Handling
  • Assist with counting, packaging, labeling, insuring, unpacking, and logging materials for production and QC testing.
Damage Inspection
  • Inspect shipments for any damages or defects and report discrepancies to QC or purchasing personnel.
Material Delivery
  • Deliver materials to different departments and obtain authorized signatures for receipt.
Proof of Delivery
  • Supply and maintain proof of delivery documents.
Database Maintenance
  • Assist in maintaining department databases related to shipments.
Operation of Equipment
  • May operate equipment such as dolly, pallet jack, or forklift to load and unload materials.
Adherence to Procedures
  • Follow departmental policies, procedures, safety, and environmental standards.
Inventory Management
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels, prevent overstocking or shortages, and optimize material usage to reduce waste.
Coordination with Purchasing Teams
  • May work with purchasing teams to ensure material procurement aligns with production schedules.
Team Supervision and Training
  • Supervise, train, and monitor material handlers and other team members.
  • Address concerns and provide conflict resolution.
Process Evaluation and Improvement
  • Evaluate existing processes for inefficiencies and suggest improvements.
Miscellaneous Duties
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment (dolly, pallet jack, forklift).
  • Strong organizational skills to optimize warehouse and yard layout.
