Job summary

Akima Global Logistics (AGL) in Fort Riley, KS, is seeking a Material Expediter to streamline the movement of vehicles, equipment, and Class IX repair parts from receiving through inspection, staging, and warehousing.

You will monitor items needing urgent handling, verify turn-in documents, and keep logs in GCSS-Army, DPAS, and LMP. The role requires close coordination with Army units and contractor staff to maintain smooth material flow.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; logistics coursework preferred but not required.
• Experience: 2–4 years in logistics, warehousing, or supply (Army contractor preferred).
• Familiarity with Army regulations and Army systems: GCSS-Army, DPAS, LMP.
• Forklift/MHE certification preferred; valid driver's license and insurance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; basic English reading/writing.
• Able to travel within the United States up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Expedite movement of vehicles, equipment, and Class IX repair parts from receiving to inspection, staging, and warehousing.
• Monitor and prioritize items requiring immediate attention or special handling.
• Ensure equipment is staged for inspection, accountability, or outbound shipment.
• Verify that turn-in documents match the items being processed.
• Track movement status in logs or Army systems (GCSS-Army, DPAS, LMP).
• Report discrepancies in documentation, property records, or shipment status.
• Coordinate with Supply Technicians, Warehouse Specialists, Transportation Coordinators, and QA staff.
• Communicate with Army unit personnel to resolve delays during mass turn-ins.
• Support outbound shipping by staging, packaging, and readiness for loading.
• Assist in reconciling shortages, overages, or mismatches in turn-ins.
• Participate in cyclic inventories, spot checks, and PARs.
• Ensure items are tagged, labeled, and condition-coded before storage or shipment.
• Ensure safe movement using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other MHE.
• Comply with OSHA, Army, and company safety standards; environmental handling.
• Follow environmental standards for HAZMAT handling, packaging, disposal.
