Job summary

RINA is seeking a Senior Marine Structural Engineer to join our Plant Engineering team with offices in Houston, Sunrise/Ft. Lauderdale, Boston, and Chicago/Lisle.

You will lead berthing, mooring, and structural designs for berth facilities, guide pile and fender analyses, and supervise field construction activities across multiple sites in the U.S. The role requires extensive marine structural experience, a Texas P.E., and strong leadership and communication to coordinate multi-disciplinary

Qualifications

• Active Texas Professional Engineer license (civil or structural).
• Minimum of 10 years of marine structural engineering experience for pile-supported waterfronts, incl. construction.
• Experience on hurricane-exposed Gulf Coast waterfronts and soft coastal clays.
• Experience with liquid bulk or barge terminals.
• Experience with USACE permit drawing standards and submittals.
• Ability to lead technical problem-solving in complex engineering environments.
• Excellent written/oral communication skills.
• Collaborative working style with a solution-driven mindset.
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and manage tasks per client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead marine structural engineering for berth and waterfront infrastructure from concept through construction and handover.
• Perform berthing/fender design and mooring analysis per UFC/OCIMF.
• Supervise piling and structural erection, testing, and field quality.
• Prepare drawings, calculations, specs, and vendor evaluations.
• Coordinate with mooring analysis and CAD/BIM environments.
