Job summary

RINA is seeking a Senior Marine Structural Engineer to join our Plant Engineering Division. You will lead the design and analysis of berth and waterfront structures, from concept through construction and handover, across multiple U.S. offices including Houston, TX; Sunrise/Ft.

Lauderdale, FL; Boston, MA; and Chicago/Lisle, IL. The role requires a Texas Professional Engineer license and 10+ years of marine structural experience, with expertise in fender systems, mooring, pile design, and related

Qualifications

• Active Texas Professional Engineer license (civil or structural).
• Minimum of 10 years in marine structural engineering for pile-supported waterfront structures, including construction involvement.
• Experience on hurricane-exposed Gulf Coast waterfronts and in soft coastal clays.
• Experience with USACE permit drawing standards and permit submittal requirements.
• Ability to lead technical problem-solving and support decision-making in complex engineering environments.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Collaborative working style with a solution-driven mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead marine structural engineering for berth and waterfront infrastructure from concept through construction and handover.
• Prepare construction drawings and structural calculations for berthing structures.
• Supervise piling and structural erection with quality control and reporting.
• Coordinate mooring analyses and analyze piles, fenders and docking systems.
• Develop procurement specifications and vendor evaluations for piles, fenders and mooring equipment.
• Perform constructability reviews and support USACE permitting processes.
