Job Description Summary

The Lead Manufacturing Specialist - Production Coating Supplier Quality will be responsible for driving quality initiatives for assigned thermal spray coating suppliers, including implementing quality plans. The role involves selecting suppliers through qualification processes, owning supplier results and audits, utilizing supplier scorecards to drive improvements, and developing improvement plans as needed.

The Lead Manufacturing Specialist possesses in-depth knowledge of best practices, understands how their area integrates with others, and is aware of market competition and differentiators.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Supplier Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Development
2. Managing supplier qualifications, action plans, audits, performance monitoring, and supporting key suppliers towards industry standards of excellence
3. Applying technical knowledge and analytical skills to execute policies and strategies, with basic understanding of related disciplines
4. Using coatings expertise to serve as a material and process expert during root cause analysis, Lean initiatives, PFMEA workshops, and process improvement projects
5. Mentoring colleagues with less experience and leading small, low-risk projects
6. Communicating information effectively, developing team skills, setting performance expectations, and handling sensitive issues

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of advanced coatings and manufacturing experience
• At least 3 additional years of experience in coatings and manufacturing
