Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer in Costa Mesa to bridge design intent and physical build for an autonomous vehicle program. You will drive DFM, GD&T, and MBOM alignment, coordinating with design and production teams to ensure robust, repeatable builds.

You’ll work hands-on on the floor, develop work instructions, and push for producibility from early development through Alpha stages, while contributing to continuous improvement and lessons learned.

Qualifications

• Degree in a technical field (engineering, math, or hard science).
• 8+ years in manufacturing or electromechanical hardware design or related fields.
• Ability to deliver electromechanical hardware in resource-constrained environments.
• Deep expertise in DFM, tolerance analysis, and GD&T with design influence.
• Hands-on experience creating MBOMs and build workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop process flows breaking down assemblies into sub-processes.
• Guide EBOM/MBOM alignment with manufacturing needs.
• Create work instructions, MBOMs, quality plans and inspections.
• Coordinate with engineers to ensure manufacturability and conformance.
• Drive early DFM checks and tolerance stack-ups.
• Define build process flow and work instructions for traceability.
• Own MBOM creation and evolution with design changes.
• Lead build execution with technicians and resolve issues on floor.
• Capture lessons learned to improve future units.
• Embed design knowledge on the build floor as a bridge to manufacturing.
