Job summary

Major Food Group is hiring a talented and passionate Maitre D to join our Contessa team atop The Newbury Boston in Boston. The role oversees dining room operations, delivers impeccable guest service, greets guests, and guides seating while answering questions about menu items and specials.

Requirements include 3-4 years in hotels/high-volume/fine dining, 2+ years as Maitre D preferred, and full-time with afternoon/evening availability.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years experience in hotels and high-volume or fine dining restaurants.
• At least 2 years experience as Maitre D preferred.
• Full-time with afternoon and evening availability required.
• [AM / PM] availability required.
• Must be able to stand/walk 8 hours; lift 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dining room operation in a restaurant.
• Customer relations and ensuring guests receive impeccable service at all times.
• Greet customers and guide them to their tables.
• Answer customer questions regarding food, drinks, and specials.
• Help flow of traffic in and out of the restaurant.
• Engage guests, act as an ambassador of the restaurant in both personality and knowledge.
• Resolve customer complaints or disputes.
• Manage waitstaff to ensure efficient and excellent service throughout a given seating.
