Job summary

Arlington Properties is seeking an on-site Maintenance Technician at Retreat at Mountain Brook in Birmingham, AL. You will perform routine maintenance, respond to resident requests, and assist with preventive measures to keep units and common areas in top condition.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on maintenance experience, strong communication, and a team-oriented attitude. Must be capable of lifting and working in varying weather; on-call availability is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to read, write, and do simple math; computer use preferred.
• One to five years of verifiable hands-on maintenance experience desired.
• Trade school or military training a plus, proficiency in at least one area.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vacant apartments to meet quality standards for new residents.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance including lighting, filters, and painting.
• Respond promptly to resident service requests with professional solutions.
• Be available for after-hours emergency maintenance as needed.
• Maintain common areas and assist with grounds maintenance.
• Support the Maintenance Director with special projects and inspections.
