Job summary

Arlington Properties is seeking a Maintenance Service Technician to join our property management team in Opelika, AL. You’ll perform diverse maintenance tasks, from electrical and plumbing to HVAC support, and keep units, grounds, and common areas in top condition.

You’ll work with a hands-on team, support on-call needs, and contribute to resident satisfaction across our communities. A high school diploma, 1–5 years of experience, a valid driver’s license, and a willingness to lift up to 100 lbs

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–5 years of hands-on maintenance experience (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, etc.).
• Proficiency in at least one major trade area.
• EPA certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs, climb ladders, and work outdoors in all conditions.
• Excellent communication and professionalism with residents and team members.
• Available to work flexible schedules, including weekends and on-call shifts.

Responsibilities

• Prep vacant apartments to market-ready condition.
• Handle work orders with skill, urgency, and a smile.
• Perform general maintenance including light plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC support, and appliance repair.
• Keep grounds and common areas clean and inviting.
• Support preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Pitch in with snow removal, pool upkeep, and seasonal tasks.
• Stay alert and on-call for emergency maintenance needs.
• Work safely, efficiently, and with pride—because your work matters.
