Job summary

EPC Real Estate Group is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team, supporting luxury apartment communities in Lenexa and Overland Park, Kansas. The ideal candidate will manage work orders, perform diagnostics and repairs across various systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical, while adhering to safety and quality standards.

You will also be responsible for preventative maintenance, unit turns, and maintaining a safe working environment. A valid driver's license is essential, and experience in property maintenance will be key to your success in this role.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years property maintenance experience, preferably in multifamily settings.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and clean insurable driving record.
• Established understanding of Fair Housing regulations and a focus on safety.
• Ability to effectively read work orders and follow instructions to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical issues, and appliances.
• Maintain service-level timelines for work orders and document resolutions.
• Perform unit turns including painting, patching, and hardware.
• Execute preventative maintenance schedules and inspections.
• Support emergency on-call rotation and maintain shop inventory.
• Ensure compliance with safety codes and communicate hazards promptly.
• Assist with exterior duties like maintaining pools and grounds.

To keep them running at peak performance, we’re looking for a technician who can independently manage work orders, drive efficient make‑ready timelines, and uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, and resident care.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair HVAC (as certified), plumbing, electrical, and appliances.
• Complete work orders within service‑level timelines; document parts, labor, and resolution.
• Perform unit turns including paint, patch, caulk, hardware, and minor carpentry.
• Execute preventative maintenance schedules and inspections.
• Support emergency response and on‑call rotation.
• Maintain shop inventory, tools, and a safe work environment.
• Ensure code and safety compliance; report hazards immediately.
• Assist with pools, grounds, snow/ice as applicable.
• Communicate professionally with residents and team; set expectations on timelines.

Physical Requirements

• Climb ladders; lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Work indoors/outdoors in hot and cold environments.
• Use power/hand tools and PPE safely.
• Participate in after‑hours on‑call rotation.
