Job summary

AvalonBay Communities, Inc. is seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician in Carrollton, TX to diagnose and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance issues across communities. You will oversee maintenance tasks, ensure safety and quality, and drive timely service to residents.

You will also train and mentor Technicians I and II, perform preventative maintenance, inspect grounds, and help ensure apartments are ready for occupancy with efficient turnover and service excellence.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of maintenance experience including HVAC, plumbing and electrical work.
• Valid driver’s license.
• HVAC (CFC certifications) required or willingness to learn.
• Ability to work on-call in rotation with the team.
• Ability to communicate with associates and residents and follow policies.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliances and other systems.
• Assist with creating and organizing work orders; complete repairs to standards.
• Ensure vacant homes and garages are rent-ready in a timely manner.
• Train and mentor Maintenance Technicians I and II.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and daily safety inspections.
• Maintain safety culture and follow AVB policies; perform hot works when needed.
