Job summary

SVA's Facilities team in New York is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to perform skilled mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance across campus buildings, reporting to the Facilities Manager and Director of Facilities Operations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least five years of building operations experience; candidate should be proficient with CMMS, basic locksmith skills, and have good communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of building operations and maintenance experience.
• FDNY Certificates of Fitness S-12, S13, S95 within 6 months preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and act as the liaison between staff and management on work orders.
• Review, assign, and prioritize tasks in the CMMS daily.
• Perform daily site inspections for safety and upkeep.
• Conduct electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC maintenance as needed.
• Maintain equipment logs and prepare status reports for directors.
• Mentor new hires and coordinate with vendors when required.
• Respond to emergencies and provide shift coverage.
