Job summary

Ultralife Corporation seeks a capable Lead/Maintenance Technician to support production on the second shift. You will supervise production personnel, ensure safety, and maintain automated equipment including Allen-Bradley hardware and RSLogix-controlled systems.

Responsibilities span setup, preventive maintenance, and participation in process improvements across cross-functional teams to meet production goals and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Associates of Science, Engineering Discipline or 5 years demonstrated ability in the field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing environment.
• 3 years of direct supervision of personnel is preferred.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley hardware, Rockwell RSLogix software, Scara robots preferred.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical blueprints and have a solid understanding of basic electrical mechanical control systems to effectively learn and run automated systems.
• Strong math, computer and electronics skills; ability to work with hand tools and various instruments.
• Knowledge of staff timekeeping systems (ADP preferred).
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Electrical, electromechanical or battery experience will weigh favorably.
• High level of initiative and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Lead production staff to achieve goals in line with approved operational plans and collaborate with HR for staffing needs.
• Promote lean initiatives to increase throughput and improve processes.
• Train staff in manufacturing processes and SOPs; conduct periodic evaluations with managers.
• Ensure safety and policy compliance; manage overtime on Friday/Saturday shifts as needed.
• Collaborate with other shifts and departments (Materials, Engineering, Quality Assurance) to resolve issues.
• Set up, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and ultrasonic equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and manage the PPM database; support new production processes and equipment startups.
• Create/update drawings, fixturing, instructions, test procedures, and QA requirements.
