Job summary

lesueurinc is seeking a Senior Automation Technician for the 2nd shift to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize automated production systems. You will provide advanced technical support, lead automation projects, and mentor junior technicians to improve reliability and reduce downtime.

This role collaborates with engineering and production teams to implement preventive maintenance and continuous improvement efforts, ensuring safe and efficient operation in a heavy manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in industrial automation
• Minimum Education: Two-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Technology with a concentration in Automation, PLC, Robotics
• Preferred Education: Four-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Technology with a concentration in Automation, PLC, Robotics
• Consistently able to: lift 55 lbs, walk/sit/stand up to 12 hours, wear PPE

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, robotics, sensors, vision systems, servo drives, and related automation equipment
• Perform advanced programming, logic modifications, and parameter adjustments to improve machine reliability
• Diagnose control system failures using electrical diagrams, schematics, and diagnostic tools
• Maintain and update backups of PLC/HMI programs and documentation
• Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance on automated equipment
• Recommend and implement improvements to increase equipment uptime and performance
• Lead or support installation, setup, and commissioning of new automated machinery
