Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking a Supervisory Maintenance professional for Tyrone, NM, a large open-pit copper mining complex. You will supervise the safe and efficient operation of an assigned unit, review staff work, and implement production plans according to schedules.

Qualified candidates will have a High School diploma or GED with 5 years of related supervisory experience, or a technical mining degree with internship and supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with five years of related operational experience including supervisory or lead experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical mining-related discipline with at least one summer internship experience (or equivalent) in a mining or industrial environment, including supervisory or lead experience

Responsibilities

• Oversee the safe and efficient operation of an assigned work unit under general supervision.
• Assign, supervise, and review staff; implement production plans according to approved schedules.
• Conduct performance evaluations, prepare staffing/materials/equipment estimates, and maintain inventories; approve purchases.
• Train staff in safety procedures and maintain safety data sheets; perform other duties as required.
