Job summary

POAH Communities seeks a Maintenance Supervisor for Oxford Place and Gardens in Rhode Island. The role requires hands-on leadership, overseeing staff, and daily operations to preserve 128 units developed with HUD and low-income housing programs.

The candidate should have 3–5 years in property management or related trades, with strong electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repair skills, and familiarity with Yardi and MS Office. Travel and driving may be required.

Qualifications

• Three–Five years direct experience in property management or related fields (construction/renovation).
• Some post high school education, apprenticeship or supervised technical training preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to perform electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs in a multifamily community.
• Experience managing preventative and reactive maintenance obligations.

Responsibilities

• Support the Property Manager by repairing and maintaining conditions to meet building codes and HUD standards.
• Manage work orders through Yardi and ensure completion within 24 hours.
• Ensure safety and asset preservation through system improvements.
• Maintain professional resident relations and respond to inquiries.
• Collaborate with Regional Property Supervisor and vendors on projects and maintenance.
