Job summary

Conifer Realty is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for affordable housing communities in Clayton, NJ. You’ll lead a maintenance team, oversee repairs, and ensure safety, quality, and resident satisfaction—while coordinating with property management on budgets and schedules.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of residential maintenance, HVAC certification, and hands-on expertise in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and safety compliance. On-call rotation applies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of apartment or residential maintenance experience with supervision.
• HVAC certification and knowledge of inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Experience with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and safety compliance.
• Experience managing budgets, vendors, and maintenance schedules.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Yardi or similar systems.
• Reliable transportation and ability to respond within 30 minutes for on-call.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train maintenance staff to uphold quality and safety standards.
• Manage work orders, make-ready units, and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate with the Community Manager on budgets, inspections, and resident care.
• Ensure compliance with safety and housing regulations.
• Assist with repairs, groundskeeping, and seasonal tasks when needed.
