Job summary

MP Materials is seeking a Maintenance Planner to coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance across operations in Mountain Pass, CA. You will work with Maintenance, Operations, Procurement, Warehouse, and Reliability teams to ensure prioritized, documented, and scheduled maintenance with minimal disruption.

Responsibilities include leading the maintenance team, developing programs to minimize downtime, and driving schedule compliance through SAP PM and best practices.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to optimize maintenance schedules while minimizing impact on production.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance projects, including shutdowns and turnarounds, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.
• Monitor equipment performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
• Maintain and update maintenance records, work orders, and documentation to ensure accurate historical records and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, fostering a culture of safety among the maintenance team.
• Identify training needs for maintenance staff and facilitate skill development and training programs.
• Manage maintenance budgets, track expenses, and provide cost-effective solutions for maintenance and repair projects.
• Collaborate with procurement to ensure the availability of necessary spare parts and materials for maintenance activities.
• Lead and participate in root cause analysis investigations for equipment failures and incidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and advancements in maintenance techniques.
