Job summary

Coast Packing Company is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic Welder to direct maintenance crews in installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of equipment across the plant, facilities, utilities, and powerhouse areas. Responsibilities include setting up machines, performing repairs, and welding components while adhering to safety and quality standards.

This role requires reading blueprints and working with CMMS, ensuring USDA/FDA/compliance with regulations, and coordinating with maintenance

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cranes, forklifts and aerial lifts.
• Clear communication and written abilities.
• Self-directed, initiative-driven with fast-paced work.
• Maintenance systems, work orders, preventive maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret policies and procedures.
• Discretion with confidential information.
• CMMS program knowledge and usage.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and quality expectations are met by the team.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Read manuals, blueprints and work orders for service.
• Weld components including plumbing, beams and pipelines (stainless/carbon).
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs during production.
• Install belts, gears, seals, bearings and valves as needed.
• Diagnose problems using blueprints and manuals.
• Maintain records, logs and work orders; use CMMS.
• Adhere to USDA, FDA, BRC and Cal-OSHA standards.
