Job summary

America's Heartland Packing in Oklahoma is seeking a Maintenance Tech with strong knowledge of general maintenance, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems to join our fabrication and processing teams.

The role requires the ability to work both independently and in teams, perform routine and project work, follow GMPs and safety rules, operate forklifts and lifts, and communicate clearly about tasks and reports.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• 3–5 years of experience fabricating with metal (black/stainless steel).
• High school diploma or GED and 5+ years of related industrial maintenance or food manufacturing experience, or 5 years direct experience in similar environment
• Ability to function in a team and interact with all levels of personnel and contractors
• Ability to operate a forklift, genie lift, scissor lift, or other PIT
• Read and follow work orders, write daily reports, and translate equipment manuals
• Read/write and speak English with ability to work with minimal supervision
• Flexibility to work overtime, weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Implement mechanical and engineering projects
• Ensure all assigned daily tasks and paperwork are completed
• Ensure shop equipment and tools are in good mechanical order
• Aid other teams (assist maintenance teams on fab / harvest / rendering as needed)
• Always follow GMPs and Safety Practices
• Setup machinery, visually inspect, test machinery and tear down machinery
• Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other personnel to diagnose problems or repair machine
• Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings gears, and other parts of machinery
• Repairs and maintains the physical structures of the establishment
• Note: other related duties may be performed as needed
