Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a maintenance technician to perform light maintenance, repair, and cleaning tasks in a safe, professional manner across patient and resident care areas. You will read blueprints and manuals, and prioritize safety and quality in every job order.

This role requires basic mechanical knowledge, the ability to supervise other mechanics, and coordination with management on procedures, parts procurement, and inventory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Trade/ vocational school preferred.
• Five years of experience in building systems preferred.
• If applicable, may need a valid driver’s license.
• If valid driver’s license is required, must maintain a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform light maintenance repair and cleaning tasks in a safe, professional manner.
• Keep tools out of reach of children in patient/resident care areas.
• Read blueprints, schematics and technical manuals to guide work.
• Oversee work quality inspections to ensure work orders follow acceptable engineering practices.
• Direct and supervise other maintenance mechanics.
• Assist management with office procedures, work order delegation, files, inventory, and procedures.
• Explain conditions clearly while troubleshooting and collaborate with staff as needed.
