Job summary

Rocket Software in the United States is seeking a Principal Customer Solutions Engineer - Changeman to lead technical delivery for mainframe modernization projects. The role focuses on architecture, customer leadership, and implementing Rocket products, including proofs of concepts and pilots.

You will guide design, deployments, and technical decisions, and present to customers and internal teams while driving project success and ensuring quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of relevant technical experience with mainframe modernization.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills with a confident telephone manner.
• Fluent in written and verbal English and able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide services to customers (75%).
• Lead design and deployment of Rocket products and solutions.
• Work as Delivery Architect to manage all technical aspects of projects.
• Create proof of concept/value analyses and pilots.
• Deliver external/internal technical presentations/trainings.
• Participate in technical forums and user groups.
• Apply subject-matter knowledge to resolve issues.
• Exercise independent judgment within defined practices.
• Collaborate with team, PM, and customers to maintain relationships.
• Lead technical solution implementation and communicate status and risks.
• Advise customers with sound technical guidance.
• Ensure knowledge of architecture, versions, and requirements.
• Estimate new requirements and coordinate resource needs.
• Coordinate technical communications with PM for scope changes.
• Determine if changes are defects or enhancements.
• Estimate requirements and approve with Architect/Manager.
• Conduct or assign code reviews.
