Job summary

Rocket Software is seeking a Principal Customer Solutions Engineer to act as a Mainframe Modernization Delivery Architect, delivering high-impact technology solutions for our customers' digital transformation. You will lead technical delivery, guide design decisions, and drive proof-of-concept initiatives.

The role emphasizes customer-facing leadership, architecture oversight, and collaborative work with teams to ensure successful project outcomes in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of relevant technical experience.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills; confident telephone manner.
• Proactive and able to work under pressure.
• Experience in complex IT project implementations, customizations and/or maintenance.
• Analytical mindset to analyze test results and facilitate defect resolution.
• Organized and methodical; able to handle multiple tasks.
• Fluent in written and verbal English.

Responsibilities

• Provide services to customers (75%) and work on complex project scope with minimal direction.
• Lead design for deliverables and assist in deploying Rocket products.
• Lead technical solution implementation; manage all technical aspects of projects.
• Create proof of concept/value analyses and pilots.
• Deliver external and internal technical presentations/trainings; participate in technical user groups.
• Contribute to technical forums within Rocket AMC and professional communities.
• Exercise independent judgment within defined practices to determine actions; work with team and customers.
• Lead Technical Team Leadership activities: estimate requirements, communicate status/risks, and ensure architecture compliance.
