Black Rock Groups in Dearborn, MI is seeking a Mainframe Development Team Lead to design, build, and optimize DB2-based applications on the mainframe. You will lead a team, ensure reliability, and collaborate with cross-functional groups.

The ideal candidate has 10–15 years in mainframe DB2, strong COBOL and JCL skills, and experience with CICS, VSAM, IMS. This onsite role offers mentorship, SDLC discipline, and opportunities to drive performance improvements.

Qualifications

10–15 years of experience in mainframe development with a focus on DB2.
Strong SQL, performance tuning, and database design expertise.
Proficient in COBOL and JCL and related mainframe tooling.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain applications on the DB2 Mainframe platform.
Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity and security.
Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers.
Implement best practices for software development and database management.
Participate in troubleshooting and resolving production issues in a timely manner.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to mainframe development.
