Job summary

MetLife's Global Technology team seeks a Lead Mainframe z/OS Db2 Site Reliability Engineer to modernize and optimize mainframe databases, ensuring reliability and performance. You will lead architecture, design, and implementation, drive CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions.

You'll oversee resilience, implement DR/BCP tests, and guide modernization initiatives while partnering with enterprise architects to align with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in mainframe engineering, with strong service delivery, engineering, or architecture.
• Expertise in IBM z/OS Db2 and related mainframe technologies.
• Demonstrated experience with mainframe modernization, integration, and migration projects.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and implementation of mainframe solutions supporting business goals and technology strategy.
• Provide technical leadership to mainframe development, operations, and modernization teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify requirements and deliver cost-effective mainframe solutions.
• Establish mainframe intake and change processes with workload planning and performance tuning.
• Develop self-service automation for DDL and DML requests.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and CI/CD approaches for mainframe modernization.
