Job summary

Vast in Long Beach, CA, seeks a Supervisor, E-2 Machine Shop to lead a programmer machinist team and drive production with a focus on cost efficiency and quality. This exempt, full-time role reports to the Manager, Supply Chain, E-2 and supports transition of development to production.

Responsibilities include mentoring staff, scheduling, collaboration with planning and engineering, enforcing safety, and continuous process improvement in aerospace manufacturing.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelors degree or equivalent in experience.
• Knowledge of machining processes, CNC equipment, software, and tooling.
• Proven leadership abilities with team management experience.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of programmer machinists.
• Conduct daily team meetings to communicate goals and expectations.
• Coordinate work schedules and assignments to optimize productivity.
• Work with manufacturing planners for scheduling and prioritization.
• Ensure aerospace industry quality standards are followed.
• Oversee quality control measures.
• Continual optimization of machining processes.
• Collaborate with engineering and other departments for improvements.
• Coordinate repairs with maintenance teams.
• Enforce safety protocols in the machine shop.
• Identify training needs for the team.
• Develop strong relationships with upper management.
