Job summary

ERG Aerospace Corporation in Oakland, CA seeks a hands-on Machine Shop Supervisor to lead the floor, develop machinists, and turn complex aerospace parts from prototype into repeatable production. You will run daily CNC work on mills, lathes and 5-axis machines, hire and coach the team, partner with Engineering on how parts should be made, and ensure quality, safety and on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years machining and supervisory experience, strong blueprint reading, and AS9100

ERG Aerospace is seeking a hands-on Machine Shop Supervisor for our Oakland, CA facility to lead the floor, develop machinists, and turn complex aerospace parts from prototype into repeatable production.

You will run daily CNC work on mills, lathes, and 5-axis machines, keep tooling and setups ready, and schedule the jobs that have to hit the date. You will hire, train, and coach the team, partner with Engineering on how a part should be made, and give honest set-up and run-time estimates. You will check work in process, work with Quality when a measurement does not agree, and keep fixtures, programs, and setup sheets accurate. The ideal candidate is a skilled machinist who can lead people, protect quality, and keep the shop safe and moving.

The ideal qualified candidate will have the following minimum skills and experience:

• High school diploma or GED, required.
• 7 or more years of machining experience and experience supervising machinists, required.
• CNC programming and machining proficiency, including mill, lathe, and 5-axis, required.
• Ability to read blueprints and apply machining knowledge to improve part design and machining strategy, required.
• Proficiency with manual inspection gages, required.
• Experience documenting and revising CNC programs, setup sheets, and shop documentation, required.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field, preferred.
• Familiarity with AS9100 / ISO 9001, preferred.
• Quality-regulated or aerospace experience, preferred.
