Job summary

Superior Aerospace is seeking an experienced Lead Machinist to support daily machining operations and guide shop-floor staff. You will set up and operate machines to produce precision parts meeting customer, engineering, and quality requirements.

The right candidate will have strong machining experience, an eye for detail, and the ability to train others while managing multiple production priorities.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing or machining positions.
• Ability to read complex drawings and specifications.
• Ability to measure to ten-thousandths of an inch with a micrometer.
• Leadership experience and ability to train others.
• Knowledge of ISO quality requirements and records control.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machines for new and repeat production jobs.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Load, run, measure, and inspect precision parts.
• Adjust machine controls and edit computerized machine commands as needed.
• Assemble tooling required for production jobs.
• Use micrometers and other measuring equipment to verify conformance to specs.
• Identify defects, inefficiencies, and areas to reduce waste.
• Train and evaluate shop-floor operators.
• Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain machines, tools, and equipment.
• Follow company quality, safety, and process-control procedures.
