Job summary

Georgia-Pacific in McDonough, GA is seeking a Lead Machine Operator to guide line teams on a rotating 12-hour schedule. You will drive safety, productivity, and quality on one or more lines, directing operators to meet plant standards.

The role offers $33.50 per hour, with a $1.00 night shift differential and a performance pay bonus potential of up to 6% quarterly. Experience in production, leadership, and a maintenance mindset is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience operating production machinery.
• Previous lead/leadership experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Experience with web or continuous manufacturing processes.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Knowledge of machine maintenance and make-ready processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams on one or more lines with minimal supervision and direct operators to maintain safety and quality.
• Perform makeready/changeovers and minor repairs; operate line systems with supervision.
• Assist in preventative maintenance tasks and maintain production schedules.
• Seek improvements to reduce waste and increase efficiency while meeting quality standards.
• Promote safety and accountability; ensure proper material tracing and scrap recording.
• Maintain and clean machines and work area as needed.
